Norcross, Georgia - September 3, 1996 - Enterprise Support Systems, Inc. takes a major leap into the area of client/server planning systems with the release of its new Planning Masters Series™ product line. The company began shipments of the client/server product last month. The product promises to solidify the company's market dominance in the area of PC planning software tools. The product's name was derived from the company's key market benefit-the promise to make the customer a master at planning. That planning mastery, of course, radiates from ESS as the premier planning source. The customer's mastery includes the individual, process, information, facilitation and the advice discovered that was not previously known.
The company has "masterfully" developed a breakthrough concept in planning with its QuikSense™ technology which is embedded in all the company's products. The client/server product line is an organized integrated seamless software structure made up of individual software elements. These individual elements enable an interrelated and interdependent complete planning process. Announcements of the new client/server product release spread quickly to Enterprise Support Systems' existing customers who represent some of the most influential companies in the world. "Everyone is enthusiastic about the release of our client/server product. We are the one and only company to provide a client/server planning solution of this type," proclaimed Dawn L. Britt Senior Vice President for the firm.
"We saw an opportunity to provide our planning methods and tools to specifically solve the issues of situational market assessment, strategic business and new product planning in a client/server solution" added Britt. According to company President & CEO William B. Rouse, "our goal is to improve the role of planning within the enterprise. This goal is accomplished in four ways. We assure the "futurity of what you do next, create concrete action plans, and build collaboration and buy in. More importantly, we place the organization in the path of serendipity," added Rouse.
The new client/server product continues to provide the popular "advisor" functionality found in all the ESS products such as the sophisticated questioning templates; situation indicators and assessors; component, what if and sensitivity analyses and many other added features. Its real differentiation continues to be its evolutionary architecture that contains the algorithms and business models along with its unique planning formula called "QuikSense". The QuikSense™ methodology combines Enterprise Support Systems' concepts and principles with its one-of-a-kind methods and tools. More significantly, the client/server application works in a true collaborative planning environment representing ESS' vision of computer supported enterprise-wide planning.
ESS' existing customers represent instant market success for the client/server product, as the company successfully installed the new system with the Digital Equipment Corporation. "Our customers are faced with ever changing business models due to factors such as uncertain business climates, globalization, downsizing, rightsizing, and re-engineering. The list is enormous. Planning becomes the crucial element between success and failure," stated Britt. "That's where we come in. We become the planning support for the enterprise. More importantly, our customers say we add the "A-ha!" to their business. That "A-ha!" is a value that they learned during the process that they never knew they had," purported Britt. "It is the significance of that positive surprise factor that springboards ESS as the planning experts."
